Bastille are an English rock band formed in London in 2010. They began as a solo project by singer-songwriter Dan Smith, who later decided to form a band. The four-piece is completed by Chris Wood, William Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. The name of the band derives from Bastille Day – an event celebrated on Smith’s birthday, 14 July.

In December 2010, EMI Music announced that they had offered Bastille a record contract with Virgin Records. Their debut single, “Overjoyed” was subsequently released in April 2012. Their first studio album, titled Bad Blood, was released in March 2013 and debuted atop the UK Albums Chart. The band was nominated for four Brit Awards at the 2014 ceremony, including for British Breakthrough Act, British Group, British Single of the Year and British Album of the Year, winning for British Breakthrough Act. As of February 2014, Bastille have sold over 2.07 million records in the UK alone.

Bastille front man, Dan Smith has revealed that they wish to release a new album as soon as possible but are being delayed due to touring schedules. Dan Smith has also said that the new album will be more guitar heavy, electronic and perhaps R&B influenced.

Funny Or Die’s Billy on the Street with Billy Eichner is a pop culture game show that follows unfiltered and unapologetic comedian Billy Eichner as he hits the streets of New York City to test unsuspecting passersby. Billy gives contestants the chance to win cash and other prizes by playing games such as “Quizzed in the Face,” with lifeline options to “Beg a Stranger” or “Compliment His Hair.” Other games could include “Dead or Boring?” and “Name 20 White People in 30 Seconds.”

An Emmy nominee for hosting Billy on the Street, Eichner appeared in a much buzzed-about Billy on the Street segment with Seth Meyers on last year’s Primetime Emmys and was named People Magazine’s Breakout Star of 2014. Billy on the Street has garnered wide praise from critics. The New York Times called it “uproarious… Eichner is doing things within the confines of the television set that feel loose, unpredictable and appealingly wrong.”Entertainment Weekly named Billy on the Street to its weekly “Must List.” USA Today called it “your new favorite show.” And The Huffington Post heralded it an “LOL-worthy” series packed with “frantic hilarity.”

Billy on the Street – What Does Katy Perry’s Cat Care About?

http://www.vladtv.com – VladTV caught up with Luther Ridley, aka Eastside Crackhead, and he didn’t let us down with his latest raw freestyle. The aspiring rapper, who previously told us he’d “given up on humanity,” spit a few bars about getting off the streets and making his way to Park Place.

He then threw out a line about sitting “four seats down from Beyonce” at the Barclays Center as he closed out the highly entertaining freestyle.

Check out more of Eastside’s bars above.

Jay-Z performing all b-sides! Nothing but the classics!

www.hardknock.tv Hard Knock TV’s Behind the Scenes Exclusive preview of Ya Boy (YB) and Akon’s new music video for Lock Down. Akon tells Nick Huff Barili that you can expect his long awaited album to finally come out in September, that it’s called Stadium and that you can expect a much bigger sound from him, which is influence by everywhere he has been in the last couple years. Akon also goes in on the crosspollination between dance music and hip hop, which seem to be dominating the radio charts these days. Konvict has quite the eclectic roster that includes Lady Gaga, T-Pain, Ya Boy, Sway, Colby O’Donis, Jeffree Star, Kardinal Officiall among others. When asked if he ever thought about having a posses cut with everyone he said yes and that he could see even an album with everyone but that he wants to wait until everyone has a chance to make a name for themselves first. Ya Boy (aka YB the Rock Star), who’s influences include Eminem, Jay-Z, Tupac, E-40, Jadakiss, Master P, and Cash Money, talks about what the road has been like from his first track 16 Bars (google if you haven’t heard it) till now, including the move from the Bay to LA and going from working the streets to performing at Paris Hilton’s house. His new album Music Lives is almost done and you can expect him to not only rep the Bay but the whole West Coast, like he did with the smash We Run La, which he says pays homage to LA like Tupac’s to Live and Die in LA. If that wasn’t enough, video vixen Charm Killings …
