Will Ferrell stars in Semi-Pro, an outrageous comedy set in 1976 against the backdrop of the maverick ABA — a fast-paced, wild and crazy basketball league that rivaled the NBA and made a name for itself with innovations like the three-point shot and slam dunk contest. Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, a one-hit wonder who used the profits from the success of his chart-topping song “Love Me Sexy” to achieve his dream of owning a basketball team. But Moon’s franchise, the Flint Michigan Tropics, is the worst team in the league and in danger of folding when the ABA announces its plans to merge with the NBA. If they want to survive, Jackie and the Tropics must now do the seemingly impossible — win. Semi-Pro co-stars Woody Harrelson (Anger Management, White Men Can’t Jump), Will Arnett (Blades of Glory, “Arrested Development”), Andre Benjamin (Four Brothers, music group Outkast), Rob Corddry, Maura Tierney, Josh Braaten, DeRay Davis, Jay Phillips, Jackie Earle Haley and Andy Richter. The film is written by Scot Armstrong (Old School), directed by Kent Alterman, produced by Jimmy Miller, and will be released on February 29, 2008.
Very well-known South African artist, song writer and actor, born in Pretoria on 29 August 1964. He matriculated from Grey College in Bloemfontein in 1982, after which he completed 2 years of military training in the Defence Force, and then enrolled at the Drama School of the Pretoria Technicon, obtaining his diploma in 1986. He first appeared on TV in 1985 in “Guillam Woudberg”, following this up with “Agter Elke Man” (as Bruce Beyers) from 1986 – 1988, “Egoli” (as Doug Durand) from 1992 – 2001, “7de Laan” from 2007 to present, and he hosts his own TV show, “Dis Hoe Dit Is”. He has also appeared in several stage productions (including Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 1989) and films (including “Platteland” in 2011 and “Pretville” in 2012).
His music career started as a young boy singing in the church choir, and from the age of 11 he started writing songs. His first album “Desertbound” was released in 1989, and he has since released a further 22 albums. He first appeared on the international stage when he recorded “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” with the Belgian superstar, Dana Winner, in 1997. The song reached number 2 on the Belgian charts and they toured to sell-out performances. In 2001 he toured South Africa with “Beautiful Noise”, a show depicting the life and music of Neil Diamond. It was a huge success, with 224 concerts held across the country and all tickets sold. 150 of the songs he has written to date have been recorded by South African and international artists.
This song is off his second album “Only Me” released in 1990.

“We are being overwhelmed, in a good way, by the success of “Where Are Ü Now” with Justin Bieber, so with the video we wanted to just take it back to the beginning of the record & essentially create an ode to our fans. Doing what we do, it’s entirely all about the fans. We walk a fine line by being “famous” and in the public eye but we are only here because of you, the fans. Justin wrote this record during a tough time in his life and it comes to us that sometimes, as artists, we are also just objects and we have to take that as much as we have to use that to create. We all do this for you, respect that you put us here and it’s Ü that made the video.” – JACK Ü

Keeping a high pace, they now fight silence with the playful, highly contagious ‘Lift Off!’. Their remixes for Dash Berlin’s ‘Waiting’ and Delerium’s ‘Silence’ have been rocking the Beatport Trance Top 10 for weeks. The Mainstage Label is doing great business, fighting its way up with solid releases of promising talents. And the #25 position in the DJ Mag Top 100 is completely theirs. “Like a Prayer” is a song by American singer-songwriter Madonna from her fourth studio album of the same name (1989). Sire Records released it as the album’s lead single on March 21, 1989. Written and produced by Madonna and Patrick Leonard, “Like a Prayer” denoted a more artistic and personal approach to songwriting for Madonna, who believed that she needed to cater more to her adult audience. The song is about a passionate young girl in love with God, who becomes the only male figure in her life. “Like a Prayer” is a pop rock song that incorporates elements of gospel music. A choir provides background vocals that heighten the song’s spiritual nature, while rock guitar sounds keep the music dark and mysterious. Madonna introduced liturgical words in the lyrics—which were inspired by her Catholic upbringing—but changed the context in which they were used. Thus, they had dual meanings of sexual innuendo and religion. “Like a Prayer” was positively received by critics, and was a commercial success. It became Madonna’s seventh number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, and reached the top of the singles charts in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The single is also memorable for its accompanying music video, which Mary Lambert directed. It features Madonna as a witness to a murder, as she hides in a church for safety. The clip also portrays Catholic symbols such as stigmata and burning crosses, and a dream about …
